Favorite Teacher

Throughout my K-12 school years I had numerous teachers who I liked, but I had a handful of teachers who I considered to be my favourite. These were my Grade 5, 7, and 8 teachers. Something that these educators had in common was their ability to show an interest in their students lives outside of the classroom.
My Grade 8 teacher was an extordinary person. She went above and beyond in everything she did. You could tell by the way she taught that she loved her job and she tried everything in her power to inspire us. She would find out who we were as people and what interested us. For example, if we loved baseball she would track us down to tell us about a new baseball book she got in and how she thought we might like it. I have never told this teacher how I feel, but I would have no problem in doing so.
This teacher had a number of characteristics that we discussed in class. She was hard-working, generous, caring, had a passion for what she did and most of all was inspirational. I still look up to this teacher. I know she made a difference in my life and inspired me to enter the teaching profession. I can only hope that I will be able to do the same for a future student.
